Friday

Looking for ideas for Easter dinner. M's mom, sister and brother are coming up to visit. We are thinking of going to Boat Street for brunch and then cooking dinner at our place. I have never really made Easter dinner, but love an excuse to cook a big meal!

Menu so far:
Salted pork loin
Lamb meatballs with mint
Israeli cous-cous
Butter leaf lettuce salad

and then some sort of dessert...
(but what? any ideas? not good at dessert)
Meanwhile, keeping warm and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning...

Mmmm! and beautiful photos, as always. Maybe some sort of fruit (seasonal) pie?

hello! love your blog. Might i suggest this recipe as it is insanely easy and you can use pretty much any fruit you have on hand. And it's so, so good.

does it have to be dessert-dessert? i love having greek/ strained yogurt with soaked dried fruits + nuts for dessert (would go with your lamb + cous cous theme...)
3/4 lb dried fruits soaked overnight
1 cup nuts soaked overnight
in the morning dissolve a cup of sugar in 4 cups of water and add a teapoon of orange flower water. add the nuts + fruit and put in the fridge til dinnertime
really good eaten on strained yogurt for dessert (i made it for people last year and everyone was really into it/ kind of obsessed with it)...:)))

or you could try greek yogurt with rhubarb compote...so easy and bright-springy taste.

chop up @ 5-6 stalks of rhubarb 1" pieces. toss with about .75 cup of sugar (to start) grate some orange zest, then squeeze in its juice. some clove powder is nice. toss and cook down on med heat. let bubble then break down into mushy mess. if you stir in sliced starwberries and refrige, it will turn bright pink! :)

forgot to add, taste for sweetness halfway thru- add more sugar as needed. :)

You could also just go with slightly macerated strawberries topped with whipped cream that was mixed with a bit of mint simple syrup.

Though I like the sound of Elena's rhubarb with orange zest and clove....
