Sunday

My mom sent some hot peppers from my dad's chili garden, so I dried them and made some harissa...
It's so delicious I want to slather it on everything I eat! So easy too-
-Soak dried chilies in water until tender (you can de-seed if you don't want it to be as spicy, but I like it)
-Toast an assortment of North African spices (I used cumin, coriander, and fennel) in a dry pan until fragrant
-Add chilies, a few cloves garlic, toasted spices, a pinch of salt, and juice of one meyer lemon to a food processor
-Puree until smooth adding either more lemon juice or remaining water from soaked chilies as needed
-Scoop into a sterilized jar and top with a tiny bit of olive oil to preserve
