Beautiful scarlet runners Jen gave us.
They're so pretty I almost don't want to cook them.
Any recipe suggestions?

what kind of beans are those? they are so so so beautiful.

maybe make a modified cassoulet? or, more healthfully, a bean + swiss chard stew from the river cafe cookbook? it's one of my favorite recipes ever, it calls for chickpeas but you could make the substitution...

i got those exact beans at the farmer's market last summer, kept them in a bowl + kept looking at them in awe until one day i got home and my dogs had gotten to them, they were all over the house:)))

Do you know that you have to soak them for one or two days in the water Ashley? (change the water once). I can't really explain it in English, but to make it short it's healthier and also easier (faster) to cook. Nowadays we don't take time anymore to soak legumes, whereas our grandparents use to do it.

oh no, can't believe your dogs ate them! Had they been soaked? they must have had the farts...

thanks for the name of the beans too... going to change that.
