Saturday

We've rerouted our weekends since the Sunday farmers market no longer happens in our neighborhood.
Our new routine is to visit the University District farmers market,
eat the most delicious naan with red lentil dahl from a stand there,
touch and fantasize about all the fibers at Weaving Works,
flip through magazines at Bulldog News,
search for out-of-print textile books at Magus,
stop by the Burke Museum,
and grab a tiny espresso at Cafe Allegro.
Take the bus back mid-afternoon to start supper/clean house/listen to music/read
What's your weekend like?

beautiful. we have a date routine (in SF): i pick up my girlfriend at work in SOMA. happy hour cocktails at coco 500, then we wander down to embarcadero, stopping at fog city news to look at magazines and then we get takeout vietnamese food at the slanted door (takeout is called back door, i think) and sit and watch the ferries and the sunset on the bay. i have a new tues/thursday routine that includes volunteering at downtown high school, then empanadas chile lindo on 16th street, and then i go write and read in the rooftop sculpture garden at sfmoma.

i wish i had a sunday routine including farmers market, but we only have it one or two months per year (and only one location) in stockholm. hoping for more.
i think sundays are made for long walks. today im aiming for djurgården i sthlm.

That looks so delicious. I love a good dahl. I have spent mine hibernating at home - making this http://www.thewednesdaychef.com/the_wednesday_chef/2011/03/alice-medrichs-kamut-pound-cake.html and these http://www.rivercottage.net/recipes/chillies-stuffed-with-beans/

i'm in love with this weekend in particular because the sun is shining and it's a clear 80 degrees in los angeles. just got back from a vintage show and going to do the same thing i did yesterday which is lay in the park and read magazines and drink my favorite chai from the down the street at lamill coffee. later on the hubs comes home from a long day of work and we get cozy with the sunday nyt and a good meal.

wow, that was fun to write.

your sunday sounds and looks like a dream!
