i definitely recommend Bouldin Creek Cafe for breakfast. so delicious!
or Foodheads for sandwiches.
and yes, some swimming holes are a must. my BFF lives in Austin and i love going there to visit.

Curra's Grill on Oltorf- they have an awesome avocado margarita! A dip Barton Springs is also a must.
Yes I was going to say a swim at Barton Springs, so I second Liz. Or a stroll around the Botanic Gardens which I believe aren't far from the Springs? It was closed when I wanted to go but I hear they're lovely. I was surprised how lush and green Austin is.

You must check out the great shops on Congress! And of course Barton Springs! There are some really cute restaraunts near Barton Springs also.
i second plants people for both east side cafe and a dip in barton springs...a must do!
i'd also hit south congress for tacos at guerro's, coffee at jo's and sangria on the patio at the hotel san jose. a perfect hotel!
