A DINNER TO DYE FOR
This weekend Molly and I got to attend A Dinner to Dye For, a plant and vegatable dying workshop with Sasha Duerr. We dyed silks and yarns in shabori using acorns dyes, cabbage, tumeric, nettles, and onion skins (all which didn't require any mordants:). After the dying workshop we had the most wonderful dinner (which sadly I didn't take photos of because my camera died) that had a fiber or dye producing plant in each course! It was hands down the best meal I have ever had.

Sasha Duerr is a textile professor at CCA and founder of the Permacouture Institute, a "design think-tank and resource network for cultivating new ideas between environmentalists and fashion/textile designers." She was also featured in the latest Selvedge magazine.
