PRIVATE PEKO-PEKO

Yesterday we had our long overdue August party at Stinson Beach. Louesa had her friend Sylvan prepare the most delicious Japanese Izakaya meal! He worked at Chez Panisse as Alice Water's assistant for six years and now has his own catering service based in Oakland. The meal was truly amazing...




first dashi maki tamago with Riverdog eggs
then wild watercress and radish salad
then buta no kakuni
and whole fried local petrale sole
then steamed lobster with sake and scallions
and steelhead ikura donburi with pickled ginger
then... some people went on a walk and some drank more wine
and made dessert...
and nibbled on leftovers...
and finally candied meyer lemon ice cream with blood orange and tangerine.
then.... lucy made chocolate/espresso souffle
then... we had fresh mint tea to soothe our stomachs! WHEW!
