Monday

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post. So nice to know you're out there :)

Thursday

I just spent the morning answering some questions for an interview about lifestyle blogs.
In answering I found myself looking through my entire blog, remembering moments in my life over past few years and am sitting here in my robe reflecting on how amazing it has been to have this blog. It is so shocking to realize how much the internet has inspired my aesthetic and allowed for countless friendships and wonderful opportunities.

That being said, I have to thank all of you who look at my blog on a daily basis. I have no idea how many people read it regularly, I know a lot of people don't comment and am afraid I am one of those people :/ but must admit that I am so grateful. Every morning I am inspired by so many people...
Thank you!

Tuesday

Atherton | Keener at Suyama space.  Their installation was beautiful, it reminded me of doing "parachute" when I was younger- floating it up and then running under it before it fell to the ground.
I think it reminded this girl of it too.
She sat in the center of the gallery all evening, almost waiting for it to slowly collapse on her...
Shooting Jeremy's awesome calendars in Alyson's cozy apartment.

Friday

Doesn't get much better!!!!
Check out the look book I did for them :)
Miles surprised me with this delicious dinner after work:
green pancakes (chard, scallion, cilantro with folded egg whites so they were super fluffy and light)
herb salad
leftover lamb stock soup

Thursday

I found some delicious celery at the market, very dark and flavorful. I used the stalks for a soup, but still had some remaining, so I decided to make celery salt with it.
-toast celery leaves (I ended up adding fresh coriander too) until crisp
-crumble with fingers
-mix with nice salt (I used Maldon)
Yummy brunch:
homemade hummus (I cooked way too many chickpeas yesterday)
boiled egg
smoked trout
lettuce + celery leaves

Wednesday

Have been cooking a lot from this book lately. It's nice to see that some of the farms in the book, which was published in the 70's, are still at the local farmers market.

Tuesday

Navajo tea from Katherine Jolda and a silk cocoon M's mom brought back from Turkey this summer.

Friday

Wow, this book couldn't remind me more of my friend Molly, a true earth mother.
I still remember when I was moving from San Francisco and needed a place to stay she set up my bed outside under a huge Redwood tree in her yard. Look here (scroll all the way down)... The summer was warm and it couldn't have been a dreamier set up. She now has her bathtub outside just like the woman pictured above.

Thursday

A visit to the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard. They have a great new exhibit called 17 Swedish Designers, with a great book published about them. Afterwards a Danish "potato" at Nielsens seemed kind of fitting.

Wednesday

Fav new book.

Tuesday

Hope everyone enjoyed a nice day off yesterday. We have been spending lots of time in peoples' backyards soaking up the sun while it's still here.
