Tuesday

Spent the rest of the weekend out at Oxbow Farm for their fall harvest festival.
Portrait of Jen
Of course the most amazing spread
Cold-pressed cider, which we later spiked with the tastiest whiskey...
 Hay bale ride
 Farmer Adam talking about leeks...
We learned to use ALL the green part
(we only used some before)
And got to take the leek home,
which we sauteed with kale for brunch and put a poached egg on it, yum.
We got a personal tour of the farm from Jen
 Yay Seattle!
(So happy to hear Foxy Knoxy is free!!!)
We harvested ground cherries from a plot near Jen's yurt
They are so delicious, have you tried them?
Their little packages are so cute!
 Harvest
 Such a wonderful lifestyle...
 Campfire
 and song!

Saturday

We got this melon from a Japanese farm at the farmers market.
It's translation in english is "Oh So Cute"
How perfect!

Friday

It's so nice to see David's project in Bolinas come full circle.
Looking forward to the film.

Thursday

Here are some shots of Jen's interior.
So feminine and cozy.
LOVE.

Wednesday

INCREDIBLE dinner at Jen's!
She farms at Oxbow, one of my favorite vendors at the farmers market.
I was so blown away by the bounty in her kitchen...
As in:
the oven was filled with boxes full of beautifully ripe cherry tomatoes,
the fridge was packed with the abundance she has been canning,
and her baskets were overflowing with giant shallots, tomatillos, and artichokes.
It made me desperate to work on a farm, I am so sad that harvest is over :(
NEXT SUMMER!

The fridge is stacked top to bottom with salsas, peaches in champagne, pickles and jams
tomato jam: heirloom tomato, ginger, orange zest, salt
the sweetest roasted tomatoes

baby gems!
Pumpkin soup (pumpkin, leeks, créme fraiche, nutmeg)
baby gems, purple basil, pastachio salad
Ahhh, love
Thank you Jen and Adam!

Monday

Got fresh cranberry beans, kale, and speckled lettuce from the market yesterday and cooked up a mighty good meal tonight.
Also, it's starting to really feel like fall here.
It's beginning to get dark so early!
