The Corpse Flower at the UC Botanical Gardens bloomed! Maggie and I saw it just as it was closing and missed the smell :( BUT we did discover that there will be ANOTHER one opening up in about six or seven days! How unusual is that? I can't wait to go back!

don't flowers seem impossible? so intricate and beautiful and just somehow there. i loved your last picture, it looks like an escaped horse's mane.
i wish you could felt that, but next best thing you caught it in such a lovely picture
